"Dancers Among Us"
Here's the flip side of "Dance like no one is watching." Photographer Jordan Matter has amassed an amazing collection of photos of dancers in mid-flight--while running a jackhammer, singing in the shower, suspended from the door of a church, hanging in a backbend from the edge of a NY skyscraper...
When watching his son play, he says he wondered, "What happens to this enthusiasm, this ability to be wholly present in the moment? Why are these pure moments of passion so often replaced with cynicism, boredom, and indifference? As I played with my son, I thought about creating photographs that would show the world as if through his eyes. The people in the images would be alive and in the moment, celebrating all aspects and emotions of everyday life."

See Us Dance
Thurs., April 24: See us at the Lion's Club Pancake Day at Century II Exhibition Hall, 6:30 pm. Come eat pancakes and sausage and help contribute to the Lions' many charities.
Sat., May 17: See our Baila! World Dance Show, 8:00 p.m. at our studio, 2919 E. Kellogg Drive. We convert the studio to a theater, and share our dances with you -- Mid-Eastern and Tribal Fusion belly dance, flamenco, and gypsy fusion. We also provide snacks. Cost: $7.00.
Fri., June 6: See our annual busking show, Baila in the Streets!, 7:00 pm at the Warren Plaza in Old Town. (If it rains, we'll move into the studio): Mid-Eastern and Tribal Fusion belly dance, flamenco, and gypsy fusion.
